I own a local CPA firm, have been married for 30 years and have three great kids.
I moved to El Paso, TX from Massachusetts in 1973. Graduated from UTEP in 1976 and passed the CPA exam in 1977. Started working in CPA firms in 1973 and have since then with the exception of six years in the '80's when I was the comptroller and then CFO of the local Coca-Cola Bottling Plant.
Started my CPA firm in 1992 and it has grown substantially since then. Our practice is broken down roughly as follows: 40% personal & business tax preparation; 40% Business consulting & Quickbooks Traing; 20% typical accounting work.
My wife Dora has an accounting degree and works with me. I have three children, a spoiled Beagle, and a cat we feed.
